In July we traveled to Bulembu in Swaziland, it is close to the Josefsdal Border between South Africa and Swaziland.
We stayed at Bulembu Lodge which is probably the only place you can stay at. During our stay at Bulembu we went hiking down to the waterfall, visit Bulembu Museum and went to Pigg’s Peak Casino. This casino was very popular back in the day when it was illegal in South Africa to gamble, most South Africans traveled to Swaziland to gamble. Needless to say we did gamble and won all our money back, so we decided to quit while we were ahead.
At the museum you could learn more about the life in Swaziland while it was a colony of Britain. Currently Swaziland is not a electoral democracy but an absolute monarchy. This is photos that I took inside the museum.
The town of Bulembu is supported mostly by volunteers and organizations, this town strives to uplift the community and to educate them to practice safe sex and not do drugs.
I will definitely go to Bulembu Lodge again, we had a really good time and it was amazing! The food and accommodation was top class.
